CASE STUDY

problem

Means of Production (MOP) is a service production company based in Vancouver and covering all of Canada. They help produce television commercials and films by sourcing locations for shooting. MOP needed a custom application that would assist them in viewing and sharing location photography from scout photographers with art directors and producers.

strategy / solution

A custom application and interface was developed with these features in mind and linked internally with Dropbox. Location scouts would upload their photos into Dropbox, which would sync to this application and be viewable via a folder tree. To maximize gallery viewing area , the left navigation can be truncated from text to symbols.

Images in the folders are capable of multiple selection for reordering and marking for various stages of approval / consideration with coloured dots. Once marked, they are automatically placed in its corresponding folder. Each photo could be viewed in a larger format as a light box with commenting abilities.
